peace {fruit of the spirit series}

Today you get raw lauren.. I have put off posting on peace this week, because lets be honest, it's something I've been struggling with. I've really been battling with knowing my plans. I'm the type of girl that just wants to know.. I have trouble with waiting, and I like to know my schedule. I sometimes make quick decisions... so being in a place when I don't hear from God causes me to feel everything but peace. I've been finding myself really frustrated saying, "I just want to know!! please!"

God has given me little whispers lately that are comforting.. like,
"just seek me, and only me right now."

"Too often we spend all of our time seeking God for answers to our problems when what we should be doing is just seeking God." -Joyce Meyer

I also have been feeling a lack of peace in areas that seemed over and done with, but God has also been revealing to me that I haven't forgiven, and I haven't forgotten. God wants to give me peace in place of that pain, but I need to forgive and pray for the people that have hurt me.

I feel like joyce has been speaking to me this week, I love these quotes from her that she posted at the most perfect times:

As long as we stay angry, we keep our pain.
If you want joy to operate in your life, you’ll have to learn how to forgive and forget.
-Joyce

Is anyone else struggling with peace this week? I encourage you to seek God with me as we put aside our needs and soak in His love and promises.

Linking up with these ladies in the series, check out their posts!

  1. Lauren,
    I love this! I love the way that God whispers to you. I feel like He often speaks to be so quietly, but in the best way.
    I've been thinking about doing a fruit of the spirit series. I'm excited to read through yours and see what God's teaching you!

  3. Thanks for being so open! I agree that peace is the farthest thing from me when I feel like I can't hear His voice in my everyday life. I think sometimes I focus too much on seeking answers that I forget to seek better listening skills and patience at the same time!
    Awesome series, wishing you all the best :)
